Uncovering Brexit

BREXIT, every thing you need to know

BREXIT is a decision made by the English government to leave the European Union. The decision is still under negotiation and here I am telling you every thing one needs to know about BREXIT. BREXIT can be simply explained as a move to leave a group and stay away from the crowd. At least, England's intensions mean the same. So, in this episode of the international desk, everything you need to know about BREXIT.

BREXIT or Britain exit as the name sugessts, is a decision made by the English government to quit the European Union or EU as it is called. This is being done because of a variety of reasons and has some pros and cons.So let us see how it all began.

THE PUBLIC'S POLE

On the 23 of June 2016, the United Kingdom conducted a referendum which is a public pole in which everybody above the voting age can participate. In United Kingdom's case, it was wether the United Kingdom should remain in the EU or leave the group. This raises another question.......

WHAT IS THE EUROPEAN UNION?

The EU is a partenership between 28 European countries which aims for the devolopment of all European countries and the world as a whole. These 28 countries have both economical and social relationships.

It was formed after World War 2 by the moto of promoting economical ties between European nations because the EU beleives that countries with economical relationship are less likely to go to war with each other.

THE PRIME MINISTER'S TAKE

The prime minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May said that she was against BREXIT throughout the referendum process. But now she says that she is for it because the Brititsh people want it.She triggered the BREXIT process on 29 March. She put forward all her goals to the president of the EU, Donald Dusk in a letter.

HOW LONG IS THE PROCESS?

After article 50 is triggered, the UK will have two years to negotiate all the terms and conditions for BREXIT.As no country has ever requested to pull out of the European Union, nobody knows how this process is about to work. The default time limit for this process is 2 years. But the terms of BREXIT have to be agreed by 27 individual parliaments which may take up a decent amount of time.As this process takes place the UK will abide by all the laws and treties of the EU and will not take part in any decision making.

WHY BREXIT?

The UK has decided to BREXIT because of a variety of reasons. Some of the most important are economical and soverign issues. The UK is one of the most financially powerful countries in the EU.Thus it has high level anticiaptions from other nations. It is said that the EU was causing high amount of revenue losses to the UK.

2.Soverignity:

The shortest explanation for this is reason is that Britain beleives that EU infringes its's  soverignity.Soverignity is the right of every country to make it's own decisions. The UK beleives that it's soverignity is being violated because of the EU.One example is the immigration crises in Europe. The UK says that institutions like the EU do not serve a purpose in 2017.UK says that they take away the control of individual governments from them. This added up to another cause for BREXIT.

NOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

The exit of the UK from the EU will leave a hole in one of the world's most politically and financialy strong unions. After the departure of the UK, EU will loose one nuclear power, the world's fifth largest economy and a permanent seat in the UNSC.We will have to see what relations does an independent UK build with the remaining part of the EU.UK Prime Minister said that she would use UK's military and high diplomatic power to build up UK as a super power on it's own feet. The outcome is not suspected to build any influence on the world and on the EU.Time will tell what is going to happen after the UK leaves the EU and what impact will it have on the EU and the world as a whole.
